GreenMBA Grad's New Biz Campaign Gets White House Attention

GreenMBA grad Zach Davis and his business partner Kendra Baker started their Santa Cruz ice cream shop some 18 months ago, never dreaming that the White House would pay attention. The Penny Ice Creamery was launched with a loan through the Small Business Administration with federal stimulus funds. Instead of a thank-you card, Davis created a video to say thank you for the loan. The video demonstrated how Zach and Kendra's business had economic impact and created jobs in their community. The Penny Ice Creamery is also committed to using local produce, and buys ingredients from nine area farms. Zach wrote and created the video--using his iPhone--in a week. The video went viral, with close to 8,000 hits and growing; stories on Huffington Post and the Santa Cruz Sentinel followed. s And the White House noticed and retweeted.  GreenMBA classes encourage the expression of gratitude and respect in work and life. Zach's success is proof that gratitude is good for business.
