From Manager to Senior Vice President: How the GreenMBA Accelerated My Career

I have recently taken a new position as Senior Vice President at Eastwick Communications, a role that is only possible because of the Green MBA program. The Green MBA has significantly accelerated my career, facilitating my growth and confidence as I transitioned from manager, to director, to Senior Vice President, all while in the program. The courses, professors and readings have taught me the language of business coupled with the values that are important to me. The skills and vocabulary I learn in class are applied in my work every day.

Argentina: My Executive Study Abroad Experience

Argentina: My Executive Study Abroad Experience

I am at a Startup Grind and the speaker is from Silicon Valley, California.  All of this is occurring at a hip business incubator where the dress code is casual and everyone stares mostly at their Apple Mac Book screens.  The second informational meeting of the day was also here with web-based entrepreneurs who talk of trips to meet with VC’s in Palo Alto.  Their story is a familiar one, of looking and hoping for investors.  Everyone speaks English while networking before the speaker begins and small talk includes reminiscing about college days in Boston.  Does this sound at all familiar?

A Social Media Marketing Plan for the Electrobike in San Francisco

GreenMBA Students Team Up With Venture Greenhouse's PiMobility

The Strategic Marketing class at Dominican University of California requires students to work with a local organization to plan and implement an extensive marketing and social media plan. One of the graduate student groups from the fall semester chose to work with PiMobility and their new Electrobike program which is an electric bicycle rental service focused on providing the highest quality, self-guided bicycle touring experience available in San Francisco.

The student team: Tiffany, Joe, Dawn, and Sandra, quickly set about developing the infrastructure for the Electrobike’s social media platform and created a presence for Electrobike SF on facebook, twitter, instragram and youtube. Their goal is to generate interest and develop a strong following for Electrobike SF so that when PiMobility is ready to launch their new rental location, it will be easy to reach out and spread the word to a large network of interested customers. The students are posting and tweeting daily, sharing pictures and stories about the bikes. Tiffany described how taking the bikes out for a ride last weekend “this really helps to personalize the blog posts and tweets because we can share our own experience about the bikes (which, by the way, are very cool)”.

Green MBA Helps Local Biofuels Business Become Green Certified

Green MBA Helps Local Biofuels Business Become Green Certified
Sirona Fuels Northern California's Largest Biodiesel producer located in Oakland California is now a Certified Green Business. We plan to not only conserve our resources but also educate employees and customers about resource conservation. As a Certified Green business we feel we are pioneers in our industry. Running a refinery involves many practices that have the ability to consume a overabundance of energy and resources. We have taken critical steps to not only reduce our resource consumption, but also to use our business's position to show that a refinery can be Green Certified. Our certification would not have been possible with out the team of bright and dedicated individuals from the Green MBA program at Dominican University of California. Through their auditing and reviews, we have been able to greatly reduce our environmental impact and footprint.
