Student & Entrepreneur Work Exchange Allows for Student and CEO Collaboration

Posted in Partner News

BY TIFFANY DOUGLASS, GREEN MBA STUDENT AND NET IMPACT CO-PRESIDENT

Student & Entrepreneur Work Exchange Allows for Student and CEO Collaboration

Both undergraduates and graduates rarely get a room full of business CEOs all to themselves. At the Student & Entrepreneur Work Exchange it's the perfect time for entrepreneurial-minded students to interact with the brains of local start-ups; and what better way to do that than over a beer and a plate of tacos?

On the evening of January 24, students were introduced to various resident businesses at the Venture Greenhouse, and then paired with the one of their interest. The evening allowed students and business owners to put their heads together for two concentrated hours and research, discuss, or implement the top objectives of the company.

The Community Sustainability Commission in partnership with Dominican University of California

Sustainable Benicia Symposia Series - Focus on Energy
The Community Sustainability Commission in partnership with Dominican University of California is ready to launch the third series of Education and Public Outreach events titled: Sustainable Benicia: Energy. This series consists of four symposia with expert panelists prepared to inform us about a wide variety of areas related to energy.

As the largest emissions of Greenhouse Gases in Benicia stem from energy production and use, and our biggest potential financial costs or savings relate to energy, the series begins with setting a baseline of the major energy sources: Non Renewables (fossil fuels), Renewables, and Nuclear. From there the symposia drills down more deeply into Renewables, Energy Efficiencies and finally, policy and financing.

The symposia will be held the first Thursdays of February, March, April and May from 6 - 8:30PM at City Hall. Please come and engage with us on this critical topic for our city.
