Baxter develops, manufactures and markets products that save and sustain the lives of people with hemophilia, immune disorders, infectious diseases, kidney disease, and other chronic and acute medical conditions. Baxter develops medical devices, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology to create products that advance patient care worldwide. Students in Operations Management were studying continuous improvement and Total Quality Management (TQM) and Baxter graciously opened up their Hayward facility to demonstrate their TQM improvements. Students witnessed first-hand how TQM can yield cost savings and process improvements in this vital and growing industry.
